01Overview
Connects to the RS232C port of a weighbridge indicator to show live weight at a distance from the control room — useful where the driver or operator needs to see the reading directly.
02How it works
A second screen for the same reading
The remote display doesn't weigh anything itself — it connects to the RS232C port of the weighbridge indicator and simply repeats whatever weight value the indicator is showing, on a screen positioned wherever it's actually useful to see it, whether that's outside at the deck, at a gate, or in a yard office some distance from the main control room.
7-segment LED, chosen for readability, not resolution
A 7-segment LED display — the same style of display used on digital clocks and calculators — is chosen for this application because it's legible in direct sunlight and from a distance, which a backlit LCD screen often isn't. Character sizes from 1-inch to 4-inch let the display be matched to how far away it needs to be read from.
Wireless variants remove the cable run
On the 90 and 100 models, a WiFi variant is available, which matters when the display needs to be positioned somewhere a physical RS232C cable run isn't practical — across a yard, or in a location that changes from time to time.
03Manufacturing & build quality
Remote displays are built around a 7-segment LED module sized to the character height ordered, driven by a small controller board that decodes the RS232C data stream from the indicator and refreshes the display in real time. The LED module and driver board are assembled into a weatherproof housing suited to outdoor mounting near a weighbridge deck, with a clear, UV-stable front window sized for sunlight readability. Units are bench-tested against a simulated indicator data stream to confirm correct character display and refresh timing, and wireless models are additionally tested for WiFi connection stability before dispatch.
04Problems it solves
Driver can't see the cabin display
A driver sitting in a truck cab on the weighbridge deck usually can't see the indicator inside the control room — a remote display positioned where the driver can see it removes that blind spot.
Disputes over the reading
When the only visible weight reading is inside an office, a driver has to take the operator's word for the number — a visible remote display lets the driver see the same figure the system recorded, in real time.
Sunlight glare on standard screens
Ordinary LCD or backlit displays wash out in direct outdoor sunlight; 7-segment LED displays are specifically chosen for this application because they stay legible in bright daylight.
Reading a weight from a distance across a yard
Larger character sizes (up to 4-inch) mean the display can be read from further away than a standard indicator screen, useful in large yards or where the reading needs to be visible from a moving vehicle.
05Why it matters
Weighbridge transactions are frequently the point where two parties — a driver and a plant — settle on a number that determines payment. Letting the driver see that number directly, rather than relying on someone reading it out from inside an office, removes a routine source of friction and disputed weighments, and it costs very little to add against the value of the trust it builds at the point of transaction.

What character size should we choose?
Match it to viewing distance — 1-inch characters are readable from a few metres, while 4-inch characters remain legible from well across a yard; if in doubt, size up, since oversized is rarely a problem but undersized means squinting.
How far can the wireless models transmit?
WiFi range depends on the site's layout and any interference, but the 90 and 100 models are built for exactly this use case — positioning a display somewhere a cable run isn't practical, within typical yard-scale distances.
Is it rated for permanent outdoor mounting?
Yes, the housing is built for outdoor use near a weighbridge deck, with a weatherproof enclosure and UV-stable display window.
Does it work with any weighbridge indicator, or only specific ones?
It connects via a standard RS232C interface, so it's compatible with any indicator that outputs weight data over that same standard — worth confirming your indicator's output format at the time of ordering.
Can more than one remote display be connected to a single indicator?
Multiple displays can typically be run from the same RS232C output, useful when you want the reading visible in more than one location — for example, both at the deck and at a gate — at the same time.
