02How it works
Recording every weighment without a separate computer
The digitizer performs the same core job as a weighbridge indicator — reading and summing load cell signals into a weight value — but adds inbuilt storage for up to 200,000 records directly on the device, and generates full weighment reports on the unit itself. That means a site can maintain a complete transaction history without running a separate PC and database just to log weighments.
Field-programmable fields, not a fixed ticket format
Different sites need different information captured against each weighment — vehicle number, material type, party name, purchase order reference — and the fields that matter vary by industry. Being field-programmable means the consolidated data fields captured against each transaction can be configured on site to match what that particular operation actually needs to record, rather than being locked to a factory-set format.
Password-protected calibration as a control, not just a feature
Because the digitizer is often the trade-legal record of a weighment, restricting who can alter calibration settings or other parameters matters as much as the accuracy of the reading itself — password protection on calibration and parameter access means those settings can't be casually or accidentally changed by anyone without the credentials.

03Manufacturing & build quality
Like the indicator, the digitizer is built around a microprocessor PCB with a precision analog front end for reading load cell signals, but with additional onboard flash storage sized for the 200,000-record capacity and the firmware to manage that database, including report generation, directly on the device. Boards are assembled and soldered to standard electronics assembly practice, then loaded with firmware and run through functional tests that exercise data logging, USB backup, and both continuous-output and command-protocol communication modes before the board is fitted into its enclosure. Finished units are bench-tested against a simulated load cell signal to confirm calibration accuracy and record storage before dispatch.

Data loss risk without local storage
If weighment records only ever live on a separate PC or in a cloud system, a network outage or PC failure can mean lost transaction history for whatever period the connection was down. Inbuilt storage of up to 200,000 records keeps a complete local copy regardless of network status.
No dedicated computer for reporting
Full report generation on the unit itself means a site doesn't need a PC running dedicated software just to pull a day's or a month's transaction report — useful at smaller or unmanned sites where that overhead isn't justified.
Unauthorized changes to calibration or parameters
Password-protected access to calibration and configuration settings prevents casual or unauthorized tampering with the values that determine whether a weighment reads correctly.
Awkward data retrieval workflows
A USB port for data backup means records can be pulled off the unit directly, without needing a live network connection to a central system every time a backup or audit export is needed.

How much history does 200,000 records actually cover?
That depends entirely on transaction volume — a busy weighbridge processing a few hundred vehicles a day will fill that capacity over a period of months to a couple of years, while a lower-volume site could log for considerably longer before needing to archive and clear old records.
How do we get data off the unit for backup or audit?
Via the USB port for direct backup, or over the RS232C/RS485 interface using continuous data output or a command protocol if you're pulling data into another system in real time.
Is it compatible with our existing weighbridge indicator setup?
It supports the same 350Ω (up to 6 parallel) and 1100Ω (up to 18 parallel) load cell configurations as the standard indicator, so it fits the same weighbridge wiring — the decision between the two usually comes down to whether you need onboard record storage and reporting.
What happens if someone forgets the calibration password?
Password recovery/reset procedures exist for legitimate access needs, but the intent of the protection is specifically to prevent casual access — treat the password with the same care as any other access-control credential tied to a legally significant record.
Can it uplink to SAP/ERP the same way the indicator does?
Yes — it uplinks data to MIS systems and communicates with SAP and ERP the same way, in addition to its local storage and reporting capability.
